Folks, this item could easily be a weapon and could easily cause damage if used inappropriately. His hand was bandaged and he left specific instructions to use caution when handling. The blade sliced open the package as well as my mailman’s hand. During transit, the blade was loosened from its foam packag ing and the tip protector wiggled itself off the blade. Unfortunately there were no bolts in my package. Once the blade is inserted into the groove, the blade is then secured by two thru bolts. The handle and groove is encapsulated by a metal shroud. The blade attaches to the handle through a slotted grove in the handle. The point of the blade is extremely sharp. While the blade is sharp its not razor sharp but the fine cutting edge could EASILY be sharpened to razor quality. The blade is made of very thick and heavy steel. Handle is a two piece assembly with a large threaded bolt that allows a tight bond and a strong joint. Handle is made of finger-jointed wood similar to a closet rod in material and diameter.
